Today, I punched my excuses in the face. It was early. It was breezy. It was muddy. My bed was comfy. But I got up, ate some PB toast and drank some water, and ran 5 miles.
Running outside was really nice–nicer than I expected it to be. I’m really excited to run outside more now that spring finally seems to have arrived. As long as it’s above 40 degrees (and not pouring rain), I’ll be running outside from now on.
I am INCREDIBLY proud of myself for completing this run. I am a master excuse-maker; I can justify anything. So the fact that I got my butt out of bed at 8 o’clock on a Saturday morning and ran 5 miles is nothing short of a miracle.
AND, this means that I have finally completed “Week 2” of my training program. Now is where the tough stuff begins, because up till now 5 miles is the farthest I’ve ever run.
Did you get your miles in today?
