Happy Monday! I’m back from my whirlwind trip to San Francisco, and I am seriously feeling it today. I need a nap!
Normally, this would be a Manic Monday post, but considering that I took all of last week off from training of any kind, it would have been a pretty short post. I just wanted to pop in and say hi, and that a SF recap is coming soon! I had lots of adventures and crammed as much as I possibly could into the short time I was there.
This week is all about getting back into the groove–back to running, back to the gym, and back to healthy eating. I’m feeling really good about my mindset right now and like I’m in a place where I can really commit to being a healthier person, so I’m going to ride that wave as long as I can. Unfortunately, my right foot has been bothering me a bit since the half, so I need to take it easy, and maybe look into more supportive shoes to wear when I’m not running.
This is another short work week for me–Ben and I are headed to Warren, Maine this weekend for his annual family reunion. It’s looking like it will be a significantly smaller turnout than usual, which might actually be nice–a little less hectic, and more time to actually talk to and hang out with the people who are there instead of trying to divide our time between so many. Plus, we get to eat our fill of delicious seafood. Nomnomnom.
I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July weekend!
My boyfriend’s family reunion was this past Saturday and boy was it tiring! His grandparents host it and we were staying at the host cabin, so it started for us even before people started arriving. I’m grateful I didn’t have to do too much though and it was nice meeting even more of his family. I hope you will have fun at Ben’s reunion!
I’m sure we will 😀 We get to camp on a beautiful farm, and there’s even a lake for swimming. I spend most of my time swimming 😉
I spent a lot of time on the lake, too. 🙂 I got to drive a jet ski!
Woah, cool! I’ve never done that before.
Can’t wait to hear about San Fran!!! DID YOU HUG A SEA LION
I didn’t even SEE a sea lion, let alone hug one 😦 It was crazy touristy all up in that heezy, so we spent a lot of time doing other things and never made it to Fisherman’s Wharf 😦 Next time!
Welcome back! I’m looking forward to reading your SF recap! I’m planning to go there for a work conference next summer and I’m always on the lookout for ideas of things to do there 🙂
I had to start wearing more supportive non-running shoes, too, which was kind of a bummer because I’m addicted to Converse and they’re terrible for my feet. I don’t know if you use orthotics at all, but that might be something to try as well.
Yay for riding the good mindset wave! I’m in that place right now too and I love the feeling! 😀
The biggest problem for my feet right now is that my everyday summer work shoes are really flat sandals with absolutely no cushion or arch support whatsoever. I really need to get new ones, I’d just rather spend the money on other stuff!
Can’t wait for the recap. Glad you had fun!
Thanks! It was a very good trip 🙂
Hope you had a blast in San Fran! Can’t wait to hear about it!
I did–can’t wait to go back when I have more time!
Welcome back to East Coast time! Hope you saved me some wine for my trip this fall! I’ve been to Warren. I think. I’ve been to Maine so many times I’ve lost count. That’s why I live in Florida now, lol! 🙂
Warren is really pretty–close enough to the coast for good seafood, but inland enough to have grass and trees 🙂
I am so jealous of all your travel! You should stop by Baltimore on your way to Maine and say hi. 🙂 I’m glad you had a fun weekend and enjoy your next trip!
My future SIL lives in DC, so maybe next time I’m down that way we can meet up 🙂
