Welcome to Friday Free-For-All, where I talk about anything and everything on my mind. This is usually just a great big brain dump, so brace yourselves!
Moving sucks. There, I said it. I’m sure you all know how much moving sucks. It just does, there’s no getting around it. We have too much crap. Every time we move, we bitch about how we have too much crap, but we just keep shuttling it around and acquiring more crap all the time. I will be a very happy girl on the day we buy a house and never have to move again.
Summer is almost over. Seriously, how did that happen? It’s crazy! This time last year, Ben and I were packing up our apartment in Boston and getting ready to move in with his folks. One year later, we’re packing up our Burlington apartment and getting ready to move in with his folks. I feel like I’m stuck in a time loop.
I’m hoping that we can sneak in a few more summery activities before fall. On my list are hiking Mt. Mansfield and swimming in a river. Not negotiable. On a related note…
Hooray for three-day weekends! I couldn’t be happier about the timing of Labor Day and how it fits in with our moving schedule. I’m hoping we can get all the moving crap done and over with by Sunday so that we can just use Monday as a relaxation/summer fun day.
I jumped on the Erin Condren life planner bandwagon. I ordered this thing 3 weeks ago and it just shipped. It had better be worth the wait (and the $50 price tag). I seriously can’t wait to have this thing in my hot little hands. I will always prefer an actual paper planner to a calendar app. Call me a Luddite if you will, but that’s just how I roll.
What are your plans for the holiday weekend?
good luck moving, dear! I hope you have the biggest froyo EVER after! My weekend plans are just the usual–running, eating, sleeping 😀
I’ll hopefully have so running in there too. And then yes, ALLTHEFROYO!
Moving is the PITS. And I have determined that I might be a Level 2 hoarder. I need to purge. And I’m not even moving. Long run. Beer. Sleep. That’s pretty much what I’ve got on tap this weekend. A hike followed by a river swim sounds like a perfect weekend! Here’s to hoping you can swing it! 🙂
I’m a hoarder too–it’s really bad. I have a 30 gallon plastic tub full of stuffed animals and beanie babies that I still can’t let go of…
Enjoy your run, beer and sleep–sounds like a great weekend to me!
That. Is awesome. 🙂
I love paper planners too, but I can’t justify the added shipping and duty expenses to get an Erin Condren life planner… damn Canada-US border shenanigans. lol.
Seriously, that’s just silly. You should just move to VT with me. A lot of people mistake VT as a part of Canada.
It is. It ends up costing another $30 or so with shipping, duties etc. Ridiculous for an already expensive planner.
I’ve always wanted to go to VT–it sounds so lovely. 🙂
Come visit!
Might have to! 🙂
I’m all about old school planners too. Can’t seem to give up my yearly Labrador calendar. Go figure. And I think maybe you should listen to Elsa when it comes to the beanies. 🙂 Gym, 8 miles, and stuffing my yap with foodie friends are on tap. Think we may even see some hot tub time. The beat up legs will appreciate it, I’m sure. Good luck with the moving. I find “flasks” help! ALOT 🙂
Ooo hot tub time sounds amazing! Enjoy your weekend! There will be beer and fro yo for me once moving is done 😀
Ughh I’m with you on moving. It sucks. We’re having some frustrating homeowner-y issues right now that I hope are fixable because I intended our house to be our forever home so that we wouldn’t have to move again!
I’m all about the paper planners too. I’m a Luddite and proud. I usually buy the tiny planners they sell at my work because they’re $5 and fit in my purse. These Erin Condren ones look fancy and like I’d love them, but $50?? I hope it’s awesome and worth the money! 🙂
Me too! This is my first time buying one, and I hope it’s all it’s cracked up to be. My main concern is that it seems to be on the large side. We’ll see!
