Welcome to Friday Free-For-All, where I talk about anything and everything on my mind. This is usually just a great big brain dump, so brace yourselves!
I can’t remember the last time I was so grateful it was Friday. These last couple of weeks have been killer. Between crazy projects and stress at work, and personal life/wedding drama, I’ve been out of my mind. I’m so thankful to have running as an outlet because otherwise I’d have gone crazy a long time ago. The good news is, work should calm down after this week, so I’m hoping to get back on a more even keel.
This weekend will be awesome. A good friend of ours who lives in Colorado is visiting. We haven’t seen her in almost two years, so it will be awesome to spend some time with her. Also, her brother and his wife just moved back to town, so we have a full day of festivities planned on Saturday. First up is brunch at the Drew household. My future father-in-law makes a killer breakfast. Homemade biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs Benedict with homemade hollandaise sauce, blueberry muffins, home-fries… You name it, he makes it, and it’s all amazing. Next up is the annual Underhill Harvest Market, an outdoor farmer’s market/craft fair/country fair/tag sale with hand cut french fries, homemade soups, prizes for biggest pumpkin and zucchini and anything else you could ever want. Then we’ll wrap up Saturday with happy hour at our friends’ parents’ house, which is ALWAYS a good time. And then of course I have to run 9 miles on Sunday. Whee!
The weather here in VT is screwing with me. We were on a stretch of lovely fall weather–crisp nights, cool, breezy days, blue skies, low humidity… And then summer decided to come back. At least, during the day. Nighttime temps are still in the 40’s, so when I leave the house in the morning, I’m all bundled up. And then it’s 80 degrees by noon and I’m sweating my buns off. Get your sh*t together, Mother Nature! You can’t be fall at night and summer during the day. I need consistency!
What are you looking forward to for this weekend?
Has Mother Nature been messing with you too?
lol yes Mother Nature is driving me crazy! Every outfit is picked out like this “ok, what part of this can come off to cool me down, but still look professional….silence” and now I have a zillion sweaters laying in the backseat of my car.
YUP! The struggle is real.
Mother nature made it impossible to sleep last night thanks to a random, September heat wave!? I’m not necessarily complaining, but I am saying I could use a air conditioned nap! 🙂
I could use about three naps in a row, lol!
Preach! Lol. So sleepy!
For the first time this year, Mother Nature is cooperating. It is gorgeous here!
I think you stole our weather!
I’m so glad to hear that things should be calming down a bit! I hope they do, and hope you have a great weekend… all your plans sound amazing! 🙂
Mother Nature is going crazy here too. Same thing – I’m all bundled up in the mornings, able to see my breath, then I’m pulling off layers like no one’s business and trying not to faint in the afternoon. I was looking forward to a nice, cool trail run this weekend but it’s supposed to be 86* on race day. What?!
I know! I have to do 9 miles and I’m not sure how that’s going to happen…
It is definitely that funky ’40 in the morning, 75 late afternoon’ time of year … which isn’t too bad for me. I just wear my light gloves for my runs, then a light jacket or fleece heading to work that I carry out with me. The FOG we’ve had this week, though … 🙂
There’s been a lot of fog here too! Patchy and creepy.
Unfortunately weather like that is typical here. Over the summer we had 50 degree temp changes throughout the day. Fall has actually made it a little better. Have a great weekend!
Thanks, I hope your weekend was good too! At least the temps were a bit more consistent, here.
Enjoy your awesome weekend! We’re getting the same weather as you (plus or minus 20 degrees). It’s in the 60’s one day, then back up to the 90’s the next. This morning was cool, but oh so humid. Aw well. Save me some of that brunch please!
Sorry, we ate all the brunch. It was awesome 😉
