Not to toot my own horn or anything, but this was an awesome week. Lots of workouts, but not at an insane pace, and a pretty good 5k race to boot!
Monday 02/09/15: Ran 3 miles, with a .25 mile walking warm up. This was my longest run in a while, and I actually felt awesome the whole time. It wasn’t fast, but it was wonderful.
Tuesday 02/10/15: I decided not to go to yoga when I remembered that Tuesday night is the only night of the week that I just get to go home after work. It was a good choice. Ben and I made tacos, I had a beer, I did some meal prep stuff, and we watched some TV together before an early bedtime.
Wednesday 02/11/15: Another successful run! 3 miles on the treadmill.
Thursday 02/12/15: 10 minutes incline walking to warm up; CXWORX
Friday 02/13/15: 3 more treadmill miles
Saturday 02/14/15: RaceVermont Cupid 5k–Recap coming soon!
Sunday 02/15/15: Rest day. Did some dancing and stretching at rehearsal, but nothing crazy.
I was a slacker on my recovery stuff last week (stretching, rolling etc), so I need to make more time for that this week. My next race is a 10k on March 21, so I’m theoretically following a training plan again, which I’ll talk more about later this week. Here’s my tentative schedule:
- Monday: Body Pump; stretch and roll
- Tuesday: Rest; stretch and roll
- Wednesday: 3 mile run; stretch
- Thursday: CXWORX
- Friday: 3.5 mile run; stretch
- Saturday: Rest; stretch and roll
- Sunday: Yoga?
Are you training for a race right now? Where do you get your training plans?
Did you have a nice Valentine’s Day?
Love that the first run of the week felt awesome! Can’t wait for the Cupid recap. Hope you wore something FANTASTICAL
Nothing too exciting–it was too cold for costumes! Just a pink shirt with a heart and the Boston skyline over a million layers!
Beer for yoga – yeah I’d call that a pretty good trade-off!
Me too!
Sounds like it was a good week! I’m also trying to remember to stretch and foam roll more, hopefully we can do awesome next week!
I actually rolled last night, so it’s already looking good!
A great run is a great start to the week! And that’s still a great week of workouts.
Thanks! It feels really good to get back to running regularly 🙂
I always have all these grand recovery plans and then slack on them every single time. I think I need people to keep me accountable! I’m so glad you’re out there running and I hope you had a great race on Saturday!
It definitely went way better than anticipated! Let’s just say it looks like a 5k PR isn’t too far away 😀
I’d say that’s a toot-worthy week! 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading you 5K recap!
Thanks! I’m feeling pretty good about things 🙂
