Ben has a job interview today! And a pretty promising one, to boot! It’s at the school where he did his student teaching, and at least one of the teachers on the hiring committee is someone who knows and likes him. Please send all your good vibes his way! Him getting this job would mean a huge load of stress off our shoulders, and it would make our dream of moving out on our own this summer much more of a possibility.
On a related note, apartment hunting blows. Particularly when you live in a college town. Things here are very expensive, and college students snap up apartments like lightning! Our price range is pretty limited right now, and we have a small target area so that I can hopefully walk or bike to work, so the pickings are slim. The good news is, we can sort of wait out the student rush and pick up something for July 1st if necessary, because we can live with Ben’s parents as long as we need to.
I have a giant bruise on the back of my left leg and have no idea where it came from. My boss pointed it out when I came in from my runch on Wednesday (I was wearing shorts), and I didn’t even know it was there. It doesn’t hurt, but it looks really bad–it’s grapefruit-sized and dark purple. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out what could have caused it, but I’m coming up totally blank. I don’t remember walking into anything, hitting it on anything, or doing anything unusual this week. It’s a mystery!
It’s Kellie’s birthday! I would like to wish my friend and fellow Team Can-Am member, Kellie of Will Run for Ears, a VERY happy birthday! She’s already off to a great start–she and her hubby went to the midnight screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron last night. Pop on over and give Kellie some birthday love!
Any apartment hunting tips?
Awwwww thanks sweetie! (Seriously, go see the movie, there’s be one part where you’re just like “really Joss, why? I don’t like it!” but the rest of it will be AMAZING!
And good luck to hubby on his interview! I know he’ll rock it, but I’ll share some of my birthday magic with him for some extra luck 🙂
Thank you! ❤
Sending a huge good luck to Ben!! That sounds like it would be a really great job 🙂
I’ve actually never done the apartment hunting. The extent of my involvement in the hunting process was looking at Craigslist. Another girl I roomed with did the actual apartment visiting stuff. Good luck with it all!!
Thank you, it’s a ton of work, but I know it will be worth it to have our own place!
I live near colleges and feel you 1000% on apartment hunting in an area like this. I am WAY too old to be putting up with noisy party neighbors! I wish I had some good advice, but I could use some myself. Good luck with the search!
Thank you! Hopefully the right thing will come along.
Good luck with your race this weekend! I love random bruises that make no sense. Like, WTF? Good luck to Ben!
Thanks, lady! Fingers crossed.
Good vibes for Ben.! that is awesome. sounds like lots of change and positiveness for you guys, apartment shopping and hopefully a new job.!
Apartment hunting does suck though.! Makes me not want to move ever again. lol
Thanks for the vibes! I can’t wait to get home and hear all about how it went today 🙂
Good luck to Ben, hope the interview went well! Apartment hunting can be so tough, it’s wonderful that you guys can take your time and don’t feel like you have to settle on something due to a time crunch.
Thank you! Hopefully we’ll have news soon 🙂
I hope Ben got it 🙂
Thank you! He felt that it went well, hopefully we’ll know something soon!
Good luck to Ben!!! Apt hunting does suck, but I suggest driving through the neighborhoods you are looking at to get a feel for how it REALLY is, vs how the websites show the area. Good luck!
Thank you! Fingers crossed we hear something soon!
