Today will be a 2 post day. Woah, crazy talk, right? But I raced last night, and I need to do a recap, and I don’t want to wait all weekend, and then there’s Manic Monday… so you wouldn’t get the recap until Tuesday, and that’s just too long. So prepare for a second dose of Rae on your Friday 😉
We’re off to New York state tonight. As I mentioned on Monday, Ben’s cousin Lindsey is graduating from college today, so there will be a party in her honor tomorrow. We haven’t visited this side of the family in a while, so it will be nice to see everyone. We are also camping in their yard, so fingers crossed for no rain and no ticks!
I’ve gone to bed no later than 10:30 pm every night this week. I’m trying to make sleep more of a priority, for both my physical and mental health, and I have to say, it’s made a marked improvement on my demeanor. I’m not saying I hop out of bed all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed every morning, but I’m definitely less cranky and lethargic throughout the day. Ben and I have both re-committed to early bed times during the week, and I’m excited to see what this continues to do for me.
This has been a stressful week, and next week will be too. One of my co-workers is out on a cruise (lucky duck!) and I’m the backup for all of her work. Usually it’s not a big deal, but there’s just a lot of stuff she does that I don’t do often enough to feel comfortable with it, and there is even more stuff that she does that I have absolutely no idea how to do. So every day is kind of a crapshoot and I never know what to expect. And this is in addition to my new role that I started on May 1st. I will be very, very glad when she’s back in the office on May 26th.

I usually go to bed way later too, it’s terrible. It really does make a difference to get that little bit of extra.

I’ve been *trying* to get to bed at 9pm each night. Mostly it’s 9:30. But I’m a teacher and need to be at my desk by 7:09am (random time) and I like to start my day with a little workout! Nice job on getting to bed earlier. Looking forward to reading your recap!

GOOD GRIEF SO MUCH RAE. I fall asleep on the coach around 930. I try to make it till then at least lol

Yay for sleep!!! I find I’m a much better person when I get at least 7-8 hours of good sleep every night. That’s something I am still working on though. I would love to be in bed by 10 or 10:30 every night, but my boyfriend usually gets home around 11:30 when I am just falling asleep so it kinda throws me off and I usually decide to stay up until he’s home. Some days I manage to sleep before he gets home, but it hasn’t become a habit yet
It’s tough when your schedules don’t line up. For a while Ben wasn’t in school or working, so he stayed up late every night and I always wanted to stay up with him. Glad we’re more in sync now.
getting good, consistent sleep is the best thing ever! It makes the workday SO much more tolerable! Good luck with your next stressful week coming up
that’s a bummer when someone goes out and you’re left just trying to hold everything in place so it doesn’t crumble before they come back! Been there and it’s scary!
I am definitely not a fan. But at least sleep helps me think more clearly!
Oh, sleep and I fight. If I am asleep by midnight, I am happy. This week I have been trying for closer to 11, until we get staffed again, I need to be to work by 7:30. Waah.

Me too! We actually went lights out at about 9:45 last night and it was awesome.
