Monday 06/08/15: Rest Day
Since I raced on Sunday, I figured a rest day was in order. I had rehearsal in the evening, which was a vocal workout, but otherwise all I did was walk to and from work (about 3/4 mile).
Tuesday 06/09/15: Rest Day
I intended to get up and run, but I haven’t been sleeping well at the new apartment and just didn’t have the energy. However, I did walk to and from work.
Wednesday 06/10/15: 3.1 mile run; 45 second plank; 30 squats; 5 reverse pull-ups
I’m trying REALLY hard to actually do some strength exercises, because the Spartan Race is slowly but surely sneaking up on me, and I don’t want to look like a doofus. We have a pull-up bar at the apartment, and I can do lots of other stuff without a gym, so it’s time to cut the excuses and just do it. I also rode my bike to and from work.
Thursday 06/11/15: Active Rest Day
I got home from rehearsal late on Wednesday night, so I slept in today. I walked to and from work, and Ben and I took a nice long walk after work, but that’s it.
Friday 06/12/15: Active Rest Day
I walked to and from work and also to and from a lunch date with my friend Emily, for about a total of 2 miles.
Saturday 06/13/15: 3.2 Mile Run Club Run; 2.25 mile walk
The first meeting of my run club was awesome. I ran with a couple of really cool people, and they helped me push my pace a bit faster than I normally would on a short training run. I’m sad I have to miss the next few runs for our Prague trip! Ben and I also walked down to our friends’ house and back for margarita night, so it was a nice, active day.
Sunday 06/14/15: 9.7 mile bike ride; 3.72 mile walk
Ben and I went for a glorious bike ride in the morning before rehearsal, and after dinner we went for a super long walk, looking for a beach we’d both heard of but had never been to. We got all turned around and went the wrong way, which is why it ended up being such a long walk, but it was a beautiful evening, so we didn’t mind too much.
This is going to be a busy, short week before we leave for Prague on Friday (!!!). I’m going to try to cram in a few runs, but my first priority is making sure I get packed and organized. We’re going to be gone for 10 days, and we’re only taking carry-on luggage, so I need to be on top of my ish. Here’s a VERY tentative plan for the week.
- Monday: Rest
- Tuesday: 30 minute run/walk intervals with Emily (I’m trying to convince her that running is fun!)
- Wednesday: 3 mile run before work
- Thursday: 3 mile run before work
- Friday: Rest–off to Prague!
- Saturday June 19-Sunday June 29: PRAGUE ADVENTURES!!!
