I’m so excited to engage in fall/Halloween activities this weekend! One of my Legally Blonde castmates and her husband are hosting a “Thackery Binx Memorial Carvathon” on Saturday. We’re going to watch Hocus Pocus, carve pumpkins, and eat snacks. It will be great to see my friends AND watch one of my favorite movies. And if I wear my PJs, I can cross another item off my Fall Bucket List!
I finally bought a headlamp. I went to my run club’s speed workout last night, and I was the only person who didn’t have one. I guess I’ve just been blithely ignoring how early it gets dark these days. Thankfully, the awesome folks at Fleet Feet let me borrow one for the evening, but I realized that if I’m going to continue going to Thursday night workouts, I’ll need a light of my own. Coach Eric recommended a really nice one, and it should arrive in time for next week’s workout 😀 Speaking of speed workouts…
Last night’s speed work totally got me excited about running again. All summer, I’ve just been running. No real focused workouts like tempo or intervals. And it got boring. Running intervals and seeing really fast-for-me paces made me remember that running can be fun and challenging in different ways. I’m SO glad I went to run club last night, and I’m actually excited to run this weekend. Yay!
I finally scheduled a haircut for Tuesday evening. It’s been about 6 months since my last trim, which means I’m looking a bit shaggy these days. I haven’t decided if I’m just gonna trim it, or do something fun and different like bangs. I usually do bangs every couple of years as a way to mix things up without *actually* cutting off all my hair (which I *actually* did do almost exactly two years ago), so it’s about time to do it again. I’ll probably consult with my wise and ever-so-stylish hair guru and just see what happens.
will should be my final long run before Wine and Dine. I should do 10-11 miles just to make sure I’m all set, but we’ll see. I have run club tomorrow (4 miles), and a studio literally right around the corner from me is offering a free yoga class on Sunday, so I may not actually get the full mileage in. Ever since I decided not to do a PR half marathon attempt this fall, my approach to training for Wine and Dine has been much more relaxed. I know I’ll be taking it slow and just enjoying my time with Team Can-AM, so I’m not stressing about long runs. I know I’ll be able do it once the race-day adrenaline hits me.
What’s your favorite Halloween movie?
