What Was Planned vs. What Happened
Monday 11/09/15: Rest | Rest
I finally made it home at about 7:30, at which point I had to hustle to get some food in me, take care of a few blog and BibRave responsibilities, and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Unfortunately I didn’t sleep well, and this set the tone for the week.
Tuesday 11/10/15: Rest | Rest
All day long I felt like I got hit by a truck, and maybe was coming down with something. I felt sluggish and tired and had a horrible headache. In retrospect, I think I was just dehydrated and exhausted. And then I still had to go to the theatre for several hours after work to be on the makeup crew for Lyric’s White Christmas. It was lots of fun, and I was home by 9pm for BibChat, but it was still a long day.
Wednesday 11/11/15: Tap Class | Tap Class
By Wednesday, I was mostly back to normal. I got a decent night’s sleep Tuesday into Wednesday, and was finally rehydrated. Tap class was super fun, but I was sadly reminded that after this class, we only have two left! I’m going to miss this, because I don’t think they’re offering it in the spring. And even if they are, I’ll likely be too busy with marathon training and (hopefully) rehearsals to participate.
Thursday 11/12/15: Rest | Rest
Opening night of White Christmas! Another crazy night of going straight from work to the theatre, then watching the show, then opening night soiree and after party. It was a looooong, albeit fun, day.
Friday 11/13/15: Rest | Rest
Work, show, sleep. Pretty boring.
Saturday 11/14/15: Rest | Rest
Brunch, first show, dinner, second show, second dinner, sleep.
Sunday 11/15/15: Rest | Rest
Voice lesson, show, strike, errands, sleep.
Yes, you’re reading this right. I planned an entire week of rest. I knew that my schedule would be crazy after coming home from Disney and jumping right into White Christmas, so I didn’t want to set myself up for failure. I was also exhausted from walking miles in the park each day, not to mention the running and staying up pretty much all night after the race. I figured that if I could squeeze something in, great, but I wasn’t going to stress over it. As you can see, running/working out didn’t happen, and that’s ok.
Now that Disney is over and the show is over, I’m hoping to settle back into a bit of a routine here. I’m still struggling with the darkness and motivation, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Here’s the (very) tentative plan for this week:
- Monday: Rest
- Tuesday: Short Run
- Wednesday: Tap class
- Thursday: Run club speed workout
- Friday: Rest
- Saturday: Run club 4 miles
- Sunday: Rest
How was your weekend?
