What Was Planned vs. What Happened
Monday 12/14/15: Tap Recital | Tap Recital, 1 Min. Plank
So very sad to say goodbye to tap class. It was great fun, and a nice, alternative workout once a week. I’d like to eventually take Tap 2, but it doesn’t work with my rehearsal schedule for Mary Poppins.
Tuesday 12/15/15: Short Run | 2.08 Miles, 1 Min. Plank
This was my first run since quitting the run streak last week, and it felt great. No pressure, no timeline… I just went, and felt really good the whole time. When I got home I also did a one minute plank.
Wednesday 12/16/15: Spin | Spin, 1 Min. Plank
In spite of the fact that I HATE getting up any earlier than absolutely necessary, I really like my once a week, 6 am spin class. I love the instructor, I love the studio, and the people who come to the class are super nice and motivational. I wish I could afford to go more often…
Thursday 12/17/15: Short Run | Rest
I scored tickets for the first showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens with some friends, and I have no regret about missing a run for this!
Friday 12/18/15: Rest | Rest
I had a brief rehearsal for a Carpenter’s tribute concert I’m participating in, and then I came home and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
Saturday 12/19/15: 5-6 Miles | 5.3 Miles
I set out to explore the trails in Farrell Park. I used to run/walk here with my friend Sharon all the time, but hadn’t been over in years. It was so much fun to run through the woods, and great hill training too! And I finished with a fast mile and a bagel, so I was a happy camper.
Sunday 12/20/15: Rest | Rest
Ben and I tried to finish up Christmas shopping, and let me just tell you, going to any kind of shopping center on December 20 is not a good time. I’m still not finished, which is stressing me right out, but oh well. I’ll get it done.
I anticipate this week being busy, both with activities, travel, and holiday shenanigans, but here’s a tentative plan anyway:
- Monday: Rest
- Tuesday: Short Run
- Wednesday: Spin
- Thursday: Short Run
- Friday: Rest
- Saturday: 5-6 miles
- Sunday: Rest
How pumped are you for Christmas??
I am pumped for 11 days off from work!
Woah, 11 days? That’s awesome! Enjoy 🙂
Carpenters Tribute concert?? YES!!!!!!
Yes, a gal who works for my voice teacher is doing it, so I’m doing a duet with her 🙂
Make sure you record it! “We’ve only just beguuuuuuunnnnnnnn”
I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year. With a 3 and 5 year old it’s so exciting again! I love that you have your week planned out for workouts – I can only seem to do that when I’m training for a race. Right now it’s all by how I feel and what I need to get done around the house.
I rarely actually do what I have planned, but it’s nice to have an idea of what I’d like to accomplish. It can help me fit it in.
OOO fun!! I am getting a little stressed about the wrapping and what not. It seems that no matter how early I start to wrap, I always have last minute gifts to wrap. Merry Christmas!
I’m usually much more on the ball, I don’t know what happened! My poor mother is usually locked in her room on Christmas Eve, frantically wrapping and trying to get done in time to watch movies. I hope you get yours done with plenty of time to spare! Merry Christmas!
I thought I finished everything I had to do tonight…only to realize I forgot cards. How did I do that?! I really need to get back to running 3x a week, I just can’t seem to make myself follow through though!
Same. I made it out twice last week, though, which was good.
Awesome job this week! I’m glad you’re back to enjoying running again. And I’ve got like 2 more things to buy which is terrifying because I can’t imagine how much it’s going to suck. Wish me luck!
Ugh, good luck! I would not want to go near a mall today.
Yay Christmas!!! I was so behind on shopping this year too – no idea how that happened. Time is just flying by the older I get I guess lol. Glad you enjoyed your runs this week!!
I swear, every passing year goes by faster!
