What Was Planned vs. What Happened
Monday 12/21/15: Rest | Rest
It was our friend Andy’s birthday, so we went to Pizza Putt, which is an indoor mini golf place that serves pizza and beer. We had a blast, but I definitely overindulged on the pizza.
Tuesday 12/22/15: Short Run | 10 Minutes Core
I have plenty of excuses, but long story short, I didn’t run. I did, however, spend some time doing planks and balance/stabilization exercises for my glutes and hips, which is better than nothing.
Wednesday 12/23/15: Spin | Spin + Core
The music theme today was World Cafe, and it was great. I’m still loving the class, and the 5:30 am wake-up time is starting to get a bit easier. I also did some planks.
Thursday: 12/24/15: Short Run | Rest
I intended to run once I got to my parents’ place, but they were already deep in celebration mode, so I joined in 🙂 We watched Christmas movies and drank spiked eggnog, and it was awesome.
Friday 12/25/15: Rest | Fast 5k
I have no idea where this run came from. I haven’t been running much or very consistently, but this run was only 6 seconds slower than my 5k PR. A Christmas miracle!
Saturday 12/26/15: 5-6 Miles | 5k
I wanted to do a long run, but forgot to pack my Orange Mud Hydraquiver, so I settled for another 5k. I ran the same route as Friday, but a bit slower so I wouldn’t freak my body out.
Sunday 12/27/15: Rest | Rest
I spent the morning at my parents’ house relaxing and doing some free laundry, then headed back toward home. I had to pick Ben up at his parents’ place in Underhill where I had second Christmas, and then we did all of those annoying housekeeping tasks like grocery shopping and unpacking before heading back to work today.
This week may be challenging because of more holiday travel and visiting friends, but I’m gonna do my best to stay on top of things. Here’s the tentative schedule:
- Monday: Short run
- Tuesday: Rest/dinner with friends
- Wednesday: Spin
- Thursday: Rest/travel
- Friday: Short run
- Saturday: 5-6 miles
- Sunday: Rest
