Manic Monday – 07/04/16

What Was Planned vs. What Happened

Monday 06/27/16: Rest | 70 Second Plank
I was still feeling some DOMS from our Mt. Mansfield hike on Saturday, and I had to work at Athleta in the evening, so I decided to just make it a rest day, other than dropping for a quick plank before bed.

Tuesday 06/28/16: 2 Miles2 Miles @ 10:45 Pace + 1 min Plank
My first run in almost three weeks! It felt good to be out, other than the 65% humidity, which was gross. And I remembered to plank before bed.

Wednesday 06/29/16: 3 Miles3 Miles @ 10:37 Pace
I got out for a nice runch. It was another humid day, but nice otherwise.

Thursday 06/30/16: 4 MilesRest
I intended to get out for a run after work, but I got bogged down in packing and getting ready for our weekend trip.

Friday 07/01/16: Rest/Travel | Rest/Travel
I worked a half day, and then Ben and I drove the 4ish hours to my best friend’s family home in the Berkshires.

Saturday 07/02/16: 6 Miles5 Miles @ 10:33 Pace
I managed to get my butt up first thing and get out for a run. I was hoping for 6 miles, but it was really humid, so I was happy with 5. The rest of the day was spend celebrating the fourth.

Sunday 07/03/16: Rest | Rest
We took a couple of walks over the course of the day, but for the most part we just sat around, eating and drinking.

Weekly Mileage: 10
Total 2016 Mileage: 410

It feels good to be back in the swing of things. This should have been week four of six training for the Rollercoaster Race 10k, but I took almost three weeks off due to my tailbone injury. I’m not super worried about it, because I’m fairly confident that as long as the weather isn’t god-awful hot, I’ll finish. As for my 10k PR hopes? Well, that’s not looking so great, but you never know, I guess.

I did lots of meal prep and planning today when I got home, so I feel confident that this will be a good week!

Nice post but 10 points from Griffindor for no pictures! 🙂 haha

I think that you had a good, careful, measured week back – you were busy, traveling, and still got some running in and a couple of planks – call it a win! 🙂

Also – meal prep and planning is a great thing … we have enough food for the week but failed to make up our menu for the week. Crap – when we do it helps the kids make dinner for us, 🙂

Just glad you are feeling better!

Thanks, Mike! I didn’t really plan dinners, but I made breakfasts and lunches for the week, which is still pretty dang good for me.
