Friday Free-For-All – 07/08/16

FFFA (1)

Another travel weekend ahead! This weekend I’ll be at my family reunion in Rhode Island. My Uncle Shaun and Aunt Linda are hosting, and I’ve never been to their place since they moved… five years ago? Six? It should be lots of fun visiting with my family and having shenanigans.

I’m praying for a break in the humidity. My normal 4 mile run this morning felt extra hard, and I couldn’t figure out why until I checked the weather. At 5:30 am, the humidity was 80%. 80. Freaking. Percent. Ugh. It was a slog, but I got it done. I’m hoping that next week is a little better, because this week has just been so gross.

My new current musical obsession is 9 to 5 the Musical. Yep, there’s a musical based on the movie. It’s cheesy and awesome. Lyric Theatre Company will be putting on 9 to 5 in the spring, so I’m already preparing for auditions. I have a nice, 4-5 hour car ride this evening to do some vocal warm ups and run through the songs 🙂

Are you traveling this weekend? Where are you off to?

Yay for a new musical – I look forward to reading about your progress through that, you have such passion about musical theater and having my kids both involved in HS and friends in the local theater … I love the whole thing 🙂

Where in RI are you headed? My brother lived in East Providence for a number of years (in Princeton NJ now) and we have vacationed in Jamestown (across from Newport) a couple of times and love it!

As for the weather, I have found that as I get older I don’t wilt in the humidity like I used to … so no biggie. I have also been told I don’t complain about the weather very much … or at least I don’t let it change whether or not I go running! This morning even at 4AM I came home completely soaked in sweat from the humidity. haha

I try really hard not to complain about the weather, especially in the summer when so much of the year in New England is cold, but this level of humidity is just really uncomfortable. I’m headed down to Bristol, RI, so I’m hoping that the coastal weather will be a bit nicer!

The humidity this week has been god-awful! I’m still debating between which weekend day is going to be the slightly better swampfest for my long run so I’m hoping for a magical humidity drop too. I think this is the first week in a long while I’ve actually dreaded going for runs outside :/ On a positive note though, hope you enjoy your weekend!
