Are any of you playing Pokemon Go? I am, and I’m a little ashamed of how into it I am. There was a time when I collected Pokemon cards and played the games on my Gameboy non-stop, but that time was quite a while ago. And yet, when I saw this new Pokemon game that I could play on my phone, it was like I was immediately 10 years old again, and I couldn’t wait to catch ’em all. I don’t feel that bad about playing, because it actually requires you to get up off your butt and walk around, so it’s been great for my lunchtime walks… But still. I’m thirty years old and playing Pokemon.
Roller Coaster Race tomorrow! In case you missed my goals post yesterday, I’ll just reiterate here that while a 10k PR would be super sweet, I have ZERO expectations due to this shoddy training cycle. I’m mostly in it for the roller coasters and the water park at this point.
I’m working my longest Athleta shift so far on Sunday. 1pm – 7pm. I confess, I’m a little nervous. I haven’t worked a weekend shift yet, so I have no idea what to expect, and it’s been a loooong time since I worked a full day retail shift. I’m just trying to remind myself that this is supposed to be my fun job, and focus on the paycheck.
Do you have a favorite Pokemon? Which one(s)? I love Eevee 🙂
Hope you get to wear comfortable shoes for your long shift!! That’s the hardest part about these retail jobs…the on your feet time!
Thankfully I can wear my running shoes, which helps a lot!
Ha! I’m totally playing too. I used to also collect the cards and rock the Gameboy game (yellow edition), and I may have watched the show too. So yeah, young Dana is living her Pokemon dreams through me right now 😉 My favorite was always Psyduck, and I caught one at a wedding (during the cocktail hour, not any important time!) and was so pumped 🙂
That’s awesome! I just caught 3 Clefairy’s in a row so I’m pumped!
Good luck on Saturday! I love the Lake George area and am excited for you!
As for Pokémon Go … I have it loaded and played a bit, but my boys have totally been consumed! At Chris’ graduation party, he’d planned to do a star-gazing thing in the field behind the school nearby, but instead they marched down to a church close to us to hunt for Pokémon (it is a center). Danny was on a date in downtown Corning and as theywere walking around after they ran into loads of people playing.
I think it is awesome!
I love it so much! I’ve already had tons of positive interactions with strangers while playing in downtown Burlington.
I think I might be the only person who has no clue what Pokemon is – it somehow passed me by when I was a kid and now I just see people wandering aimlessly around our local parks. …..
Hehe, it’s pretty fun, but if you’re not already a Pokemon person, I can see how it would be strange.
