Manic Monday

Traning For: Stowe 8 Miler?

What Was Planned vs. What Happened

Monday 06/12/17: 3 Mile Run | Rest
I woke up with a nasty head cold and decided to take a rest day.

Tuesday 06/13/17: CrossFit | Rest
I ended up taking a sick day from work because I hadn’t really slept in three days due to sore throat and congestion. I finally managed to get some rest, and used up an entire box of tissues. Ick.

Wednesday 06/14/17: 4 x 800 | Rest
I was still very congested in my head and a bit in my chest, so I decided another rest day was probably a good idea.

Thursday 06/15/17: CrossFit | Walk at Lunch
I had tickets to go see Chicago at Stowe Theatre Guild after work, so I took a nice long walk at lunch. I was still coughing and congested, so a walk was better than nothing.

Friday 06/16/17: CrossFit | Rest
The intertia of the week got to me and I just went home after work instead of going to CF.

Saturday 06/17/17: Rest | Rest
I went to Quechee for the day to have an early Father’s Day celebration. It was really nice to see my family, and we had a lovely dinner together.

Sunday 06/18/17: 5 Mile Run | Rest
No excuses. Just didn’t do it.

Whoops. An entire week of rest. Not exactly stellar, but it is what it is. I can blame most of it on being sick, but the latter half of the week was definitely laziness-induced. Ah well. I’m feeling much better today, and I’m ready to get back at it.

Do you ever succumb to the inertia monster? I know the more workouts I skip, the more likely I am to skip future workouts. It’s a vicious cycle…

It’s tough when you’re sick and it’s tough when you stop to get started. I definitely find that with the gym. I’m better with running because I sign up for races in advance and they motivate me.
