My First Influenster Campaign: Pantene VoxBox

I mentioned a while ago that I had been selected for my first Influenster campaign, and I wanted to check back in on that–what I received, my reviews of the products, and how I felt about the process.

Disclaimer: I received the following products free through my partnership with Influenster in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own, and I did not receive any additional compensation for this post.

A few weeks before being notified that I was selected for the campaign, I received a survey from Influenster to determine if I was a good candidate. Lots of questions about my current hair care strategy, products I use or don’t use, my hair “concerns,” and what type/length of hair I have.

The products I received are part of Pantene’s new Full and Strong line, intended to volumize and strengthen hair. I received full-sized bottles of Full and Strong shampoo and conditioner, and a travel-sized canister of Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo.

Pantene Full and Strong Shampoo

This stuff SMELLS heavenly–a light citrus scent. After the first use, I was a little put off because it felt like it didn’t rinse out completely–I felt like there was some residue left behind, and I was worried that it would make my hair look greasy. However, after using conditioner and styling as usual, I didn’t notice any greasiness. I have since used the entire bottle, and while I can’t conclusively say that my hair has any additional volume or strength, it’s been very soft, less oily, and less prone to fly-aways. I probably wouldn’t purchase it for myself, because I’m trying to find more natural personal care products, but if that weren’t a concern, I’d consider buying it again.

Pantene Full and Strong Conditioner

I HATE the way this stuff smells.  It’s not quite floral, not quite citrus… It’s just yucky. Also, for a conditioner that’s supposed to be “strengthening,” I felt like it wasn’t as rich as other Pantene conditioners I’ve used. This may be due to the fact that it’s also supposed to be “volumizing,” and they don’t want to weigh your hair down. As with the shampoo, I’ve used the entire bottle, and while I don’t see a concrete improvement in strength and volume, my hair has been softer and easier to deal with. That being said, I wouldn’t purchase this product for myself because I hate the smell.  If the scent matched the shampoo, I’d be more willing to buy it.

Pantene Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo

Receiving this product was a very timely surprise. I was just finishing up a can of dry shampoo that I DETESTED (Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo), and was excited to try something else. This stuff smells really, really nice. Light and fresh. It’s also much more effective than the Not Your Mother’s, and doesn’t make my scalp itchy. I would definitely buy this product on my own.

Part of my obligation in receiving the items was to write honest reviews of the products on the Pantene website (they were nearly identical to what I wrote above). I then had to take a screenshot of my reviews and submit them through my Influenster dashboard to prove I actually did it. Once the campaign was officially over, my review was reviewed by Influenster, and I was supposed to receive a survey about the process. I never did. I’m not sure what happened with that. Anyway, it was an overall easy process, and I got to try something that I probably wouldn’t have tried on my own. I just received another pre-campaign survey, and hope that I’ll be selected for another VoxBox soon.

Any other Influensters out there?
