Wow, it’s been a while since I did one of these! But it seemed appropriate, seeing as I’m actually sort of in training for several races in May. And this past week was one of the best I’ve had workout-wise in quite some time. Here we go!
Monday 03/27/17: CrossFit+Rehearsal
I’m not sure how in-depth I’ll go with CF workouts (are you guys interested in this?), but here’s the basic gist: we worked on Front Squats (2 rep max), and then did 5 rounds for time of 10-8-6-4-2 Squat Cleans, 15 pushups, and 15 situps. It was HARD and I only made it to the “4” round before time was up. After CF we did a full run of the show at rehearsal.
Tuesday 03/28/17: 2.5 Mile Run
I did a quarter mile walking warm up, then started at an 11 minute per mile pace, and upped the speed 1 notch every quarter of a mile, finishing the final quarter mile at about a 9:20 per mile pace, which is AWESOME.
Wednesday 03/29/17: CrossFit+Rehearsal
We worked on Chest Presses (I upped my weight 15 pounds from last time), and did an AMRAP (as many reps as possible) workout 12 minutes total of 5 Deadlifts, 10 handstand push-ups (which I do from a box because I’m not strong enough to do full ones yet), and 150 meters of rowing. I made it through 4 full rounds plus 1 Deadlift before time. And then we did another full run-through at rehearsal.
Thursday 03/30/17: Rest
I intended to go to hot yoga, but about halfway through my commute, I realized I’d forgotten my mat towel again. I didn’t want to “waste” a class sliding all over the place and feeling annoyed, so I just went home.
Friday 03/31/17: CrossFitMy forgetfulness struck again; I forgot socks, so I forewent my CF class and just went home to relax on my last night off for the foreseeable future.
Saturday 04/01/17: Rest
We had a three hour orchestra rehearsal in the morning, but after that, I was able to go grocery shopping, and do some stuff around the house before date night with Ben ❤ We had drinks with one of his colleagues at First Republic Brewery, and then went to Prohibition Pig in Waterbury for dinner. And then we passed out at 9:30 watching Netflix because we’re old.

Sunday 04/02/17: 11 Hour Tech Rehearsal/Active Rest
It was a long, long day. We didn’t finish at the theatre until 11:30 pm, at which point I still had to drive a half hour home, so I didn’t get into bed until close to 1 am. And then I was up at 6:15 to come to work this morning.
I woke up this morning with a sore throat, which is NOT GOOD. At all. I picked up some Zicam and other emergency cold supplies, and took a shot of Fire Cider this morning. I’m hoping I can burn it out of myself before it gets too serious. Fingers crossed!
